There are two different Japanese syllabaries: Hiragana, used with kanji to make Japanese words, and Katakana, used for words coming from foreign languages, or for emphasis. Kanji, Chinese characters, are usually used in a pair or with hiragana.
Crap. So there's more than what I've actually been learning. Great.
Having completed hiragana, I am now starting katakana! ^_^ A dream is coming trur!
