John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo, the D.C. Beltway Snipers. They shot and killed 16 people and injured two more with a rifle placed through a hole in the trunk of their car. This killing spree (for no reason) occurred in the D.C. area in October 2002. Muhammad was executed by lethal injection in 2009, while Malvo is serving a life sentence at the Red Onion State Prison in Virginia.
