Betty Bloemendal was a classmate of Anne Frank at the Jewish Lyceum in Amsterdam. Anne described Betty as being "very clever at school". Jacqueline van Maarsen described Betty as a "quiet, sweet girl". At the time of her arrest she lived at the Reinier Claeszenstraat in Amsterdam. In November of 1942 Betty was murdered in Auschwitz along with her family. She reached the age of 13.
