One of my favorite music stories ever is when Migus got pissed off at an off time piano player so he walked over to the piano mid-song and tore out the piano strings with his bare hands. Big scary dude but one of the greats.

Monk had a unique improvisational style and made numerous contributions to the standard jazz repertoire, including "Epistrophy", "'Round Midnight", "Blue Monk", "Straight, No Chaser" and "Well, You Needn't". Monk is the second-most recorded jazz composer after Duke Ellington.
