Paul Blaisdell's Cucumber Monster from Roger Corman's It Conquered The World 1956

It Conquered the World (1956). Monster built by Paul Blaisdell. Blaisdell originally constructed the thing to end above the eyebrows, reasoning that the heat and pressure of Venus would result in a squatty little monster. The director, upon seeing the heroine confront a monster half her height, wanted more monster... hence the "space cucumber" look, as Blaisdell simply added a big pointy top to the whole critter.
