ID-UL-ZUHA. 5TH OCTOBER : Id-ul-Zuha, also called Id ul Adha in Arabic and Bakr Id in India. This is celebrated at the end of the annual Haj pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia. Goats are sacrificed during this Id in remembrance of Prophet Ibrahim who was willing to sacrifice his son Ismail when God tested him. Muslims across the world celebrate by gathering for prayers at the mosque and greet family and friends. They give in charity, wear new clothes and prepare special dishes.
