One of Hitchcock's first films is THE LODGER (1927), about a young man accused of being a Jack the Ripper type slayer. It portrays one of Hitch's major themes: an innocent man is wrongly accused of a crime. Looks at the title character, center bottom, cradled in the arms of a woman. There's a definite Christlike image here, underscoring the man's innocence. Hitchcock, a Catholic, infused his films with Catholic iconography.
