"I'd imagine the whole world was one big machine. Machines never come with any extra parts, you know. They always come with the exact amount they need. So I figured if the entire world was one big machine ... I couldn't be an extra part. I had to be here for some reason." - Hugo Cabret, "Hugo" (2011)
Hugo. So...I don't love this movie as much as I feel like I should. (The book, which I do love, is so much better.) I feel like the first half really drags and is pretty dull. The second half is a lot better, though, and I do enjoy it, mostly because of how important the history of film is to the plot. I'm all for anything that introduces kids to classic films. :)
