tangy carolina barbecue sauce recipe. Halved the recipe and got about a cups worth. Nice and tangy with a sweet finish. Didn't have Worcestershire sauce so I left that out. Might cut some of the sugar next time. Easily took less than 10 min to make.
HOMEMADE SPICY BBQ RUB: I usually double or triple this recipe. 1 TBS smoked paprika, 2 TBS garlic powder, 2 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 2 tsp chili powder, 2 tsp ground cumin, 1/2 tsp cayenne, 1 TBS dried chives, 2 TBS brown sugar, 1 tsp kosher salt, 1 TBS sugar. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl. Store in a tight container in a cool, dry place. Pat dry all over meat. - Nessa
Ingredients: 1/2 c. ketchup, 1/4 c. soy sauce, 1/4 c brown sugar (packed), 1 tsp cumin, 1 tbsp garlic powder/onion powder, mixed, Salt and pepper to taste. Mix it. Braise, Broil, Baste, Bake, or Grill with it. This one is best for chicken and pork; if you are making a bbq sauce for beef, I'd recommend taking out the cumin and putting in a tsp of crushed garlic instead.
