EFFECTS: In matter of seconds after the bomb was dropped in Hiroshima, more than half of the city was dead or badly hurt. It is estimated that 60,00 to 70,000 were killed and 140,000 were injured. Also, the radiation from the bombs killed people instantly. In Nagasaki, 42,000 were killed and 40,000 plus were injured. 39% of buildings were destroyed and many houses went up in flames from the nuclear bombs.
