There were a number of firsts with the painting of Hillary Clinton's portrait. The first African American portrait artist Simmie Knox did a tandem of her and President's Clinton's official oil portraits. William Jefferson “Bill” Clinton, 42nd President of the United States from 1993 to 2001 and First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton (currently serving as the 67th United States Secretary of State). In 1971 she began dating Bill when they were students at Yale. They began living together that year and were married on October 11, 1975.
