Greymouth NZ After being here several times by train and car, I have no wish to ever stop again. Last time we stopped long enough to grab some lunch at subway and kept on going. There is nothing to see, nothing to do, and the food is overpriced. A couple of nights in Hokitika is so much better.

Take a scenic ride on the TranzAlpine Train, from Christchurch to Greymouth, or vice versa, South Island, New Zealand - I did this in springtime, there was still plenty of snow around on the mountains, but lots of green grass - idyllic.
