Jeff Henderson out-jumps Greg Rutherford: Great Britain's Greg Rutherford (R) failed to defend his Olympic gold and had to settle for a bronze after USA's Jeff Henderson took home the men's long jump title. Rutherford is the reigning world, European and Commonwealth champion and was a favorite to win this event.
Team USA added another bronze to the medal count, with Phoenix native Will Claye taking third in the men's long jump event. Greg Rutherford of Great Britain took gold with a jump of 8.31 meters, Mitchell Watt of Australia came in second with a jump of 8.16 meters, and Claye was close behind in third with 8.12 meters.
