Great white sharks are a species of large lamnifrom shark which can be found in the costal surface waters of all the major oceans. The sharks reach maturity around 15 years of age and can live up to 30 or more years. Great whites have rows of serrated teeth like many other sharks. The great white is one of a few sharks known to regularly lift its head above the sea to look at other objects such as prey.

A Whale Shark has more than 4,000 teeth, but each is less than 1/8 inch long. A shark may go through 1,000 sets of teeth during its lifetime. When a shark loses a tooth, one replaces it. A Whale Shark weighs about 90,000 pounds. The second largest shark is the Basking Shark. It can be as much as 40 feet long.
