Google translate helps students translate/learn words that may be too difficult for them to understand in the English language, but does in their own. Here students are able to translate words and even sentences to help them understand better.
Real Time Google Translate: "You tap the in-app mic once and starting talking in the foreign tongue first. Then — once the first language has been recognized — tap the mic again and both people can begin talking. The app pulls in text-based translations of both sides of the conversation in real-time, helping overcome the language barrier."
L & I 7 - Google Translate - this app is able to be used on many smartphones or tablets. This app will assist ELLs while writing, speaking, reading, or listening. The ELL has the ability to type in the word or phrase and translate it into their home language.
The Google translate app lets you photograph text, like a menu, then it scans for words to translate. Super helpful for menus, street signs, posters. It also saves the things you’ve looked up offline, so if you see a familiar word that you know you’ve translated before, you can access the translation in your history.
