Glen Elgin is an unusually distinctive Speyside single malt, from a little known traditional distillery, that finds its home 10 miles south of where the river Lossie exits to the sea and about 40 miles east of Inverness.
30 year old Glen Elgin Single Malt Scotch Whisky from a single cask. Distilled in May 1972 and bottled in July 2002 by Douglas Laing & Co. under the Old Malt Cask range of whiskies. This bottle is one of only 276 filled from a single cask.
Glen Elgin - 12 YO - On the nose some honey sweetness, (bourbon?). It is light and a little dry. I also get some liquorice. The taste is light with some sweetness and spices (peppery). It is a little dry. Finish is a bit dry and flat with a short to medium length. 77/100
