Women in the workplace make less then their male counterparts. This is one of the most important expressions of gender inequality found in society today. One reason for this gender discrimination can be attributed to the glass ceiling effect. The glass ceiling effect is the unbreakable barrier that keeps women from climbing the corporate later regardless of qualifications. This effect degrades women and keeps them subordinate to men.
