Reading Nonfiction: Notice and Note Bookmarks (FREE) Based on the book Reading Nonfiction: Notice and Note Stances, Signposts, and Strategies by Beers and Probst, I created colorful bookmarks with the five signposts, signpost definition, text focus, and question on them. The bookmarks are one-sided, but are meant to be cut in half and then folded in half to create a front and back.
This is a handy chart to easily convert DRA, Guided Reading & AR levels with grade level equivalencies as well as reading development stages. The color coding is a system I used to label my books in first grade and found it especially handy when I was a reading specialist.
I would use this to introduce a new story from our reading book, a free reading title I read aloud, or for reading groups. This worksheet provides a great summary aspect but chunks work as well. Students are able to find what they need when it come up.
