Protein is really important for a lot of reasons, but it's especially important if you are working on building muscle and you are working out harder than the average person. But I think this is a really good chart because I would have never guessed that some of these foods were lower in protein.
Cranberry Tuna Salad (Whole Foods knockoff) 2 cans albacore tuna, drained 4 tbl mayo 1/4c chopped onion (I used a yellow) Salt 1tbl lemon juice 1/4-1/2c craisins Mixed and let it sit overnight. So great! I’m pumped that it worked :)
When it comes to losing weight, food can be your ally & not your enemy. Certain foods keep you satiated, which stop you from over eating. The combinations of complex carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins and minerals work together to rebuild and fuel your body, which is the key component to weight loss. Don’t think of it as a diet, where you have to count every calorie and weigh your food on a little scale.
. Protein is “thermogenic,” which means that it requires a lot of energy to metabolize and digest. Every time you eat protein it physically burns calories; in fact, protein burns approximately 1/3 of its calories through digestion. On top of burning calories, protein also helps keep blood sugar levels controlled and minimizes spikes in insulin. THAT’s the definition of a fat-blasting nutrient.
