1950 Jacques Fath. I'm fascinated by this feature where a length of fabric is wrapped/draped around and tucked through a loop. It turns up on a lot of designs in the 1950s, sometimes in a contrasting fabric.
vintage 50s Ceil Chapman formal ballerina-length silk dress. Ceil Chapman was a top fashion designers during the 40s to 60s. She was reportedly Marilyn Monroe's favourite. Other clients included Grace kelly, Elizabeth Taylor and Deborah Kerr. Top quality in soft dusty pink silk organza. The fitted bodice is softly pleated over bust and shoulders finished with a silk corded bow. Has rows of vertical silk cord embroidery work to waistline extending down the skirt and ending in beautiful bows.
