Officer Perry Renn was shot and killed while responding to reports of gunfire. Officer Renn is the second law enforcement fatality from the State of Indiana in 2014.
IN MEMORIAM – CORPORAL VAN PERRY Carthage Mississippi Police Chief Kenny Moore reported that Corporal Van Perry, 49, suffered a massive heart attack while on duty. Perry arrested a shoplifting suspect and brought him back to the police station. As Corporal Perry was interrogating the suspect, he suddenly collapsed. Trooper Landon Weaver was shot and killed when he and another trooper responded to a domestic disturbance at a rural home on Bakers Hollow Road in Juniata Township, Huntingdon County, at approximately 6:30 pm.
