This scarf was hand-made by a Nubian woman living in Egypt. In antiquity, Nubia was the region to the south of Egypt. Today the Nubian people have been dispersed between Egypt and the Sudan. Hip scarves and belly dancing have long been a tradition in Egypt and North Africa. The women who craft these scarves are keeping alive a time-honored tradition. Handmade, slight variations and imperfections add to the individual character of each item.
