3rd graders reviewed different types of lines; horizontal, vertical, zigzag, diagonal, dotted, dashed, and curved. They used different types of lines to draw the snowmen that you see. Next, 3rd graders reviewed the warm colors (red, orange, yellow) and cool colors (blue, green, purple) while painting their artworks.

In Art class, third graders have been studying different types of lines. Students created a step by step drawing of an owl, drawing one line at a time. Third graders really focused on neat tracing, painting, cutting and gluing for this project. Way to go third graders! Your owls are a hoot!

Kindergarten students are beginning the year by learning about different types of lines and the emotional qualities associated with them. After practicing making different types of marks in their sketchbooks, students filled in a life size outline of their bodies with as many different types of lines as they could think of. The kids are in the process of painting their projects with tempera cakes.

These boots were made for walking....Lower EL. Cowboy boots, cultural? Can work on different types of lines, symmetry, maybe section off with patterns. Could maybe choose a background that is home to the United States, i.e.: New York Skyline, Golden Gate bridge, Forest, Rocky Mountains, South Western desert, Beaches, farmlands, etc.

PATTERNS AND LINES || we had a super busy day today, but managed to find a few minutes for miss4 and I to talk about different types of lines. We drew zig zags, spirals, diagonal, straight and curvy lines. I had planned for us to then use our scissors to cut along the lines, but miss4 had other plans. She decided we would paste stickers along the lines, making alternating patterns. Lots of early math concepts to learn in this activity.

Is your art class learning about different types of line and shape? Use this as review or to introduce different types of line. This could also make a great sub lesson.Relate this lesson to various artists that you may be talking about. Such as Paul Klee or Wassily Kandinsky. There are 25 game boards that are each a little different from each other.Print off one extra game board and cut the game pieces out.
