Fused wall sculpture by Laurel Yourkowski Laurel's plates feature dichroic glass which she and her husband make from Bullseye and Uroboros glass. Dichroic glass requires an ultra thin layer of material to be sputtered onto the glass, normally done under high vacuum. The thin film refracts light much like oil on a wet road, giving the iridescent colours.
"Hytop" - This fused glass pendant is one I made with dichroic glass pieces. "Dichro" is often defined as glass having multiple micro-layers of metal oxides which gives the glass a wide range of optical effects. It measures about 1-3/4" long and about 1-1/4" wide. I'll send a 16"-18" black flocked/velvety cord along so it may be worn immediately. $50. Deep Fried Kudzu - DFK Jewelry Designs
