The Japanese government sent Korean and Chinese prisoners of war to the island who were forced to do the most dangerous jobs in the coal mines for Mitsubishi. Mitsubishi transported prisoners to the islands in their own ships known as ‘hellships’.

The tattoo I decided to get. It says "Hephzibah" in Hebrew which means "My delight is in her" from the scripture Isaiah 62:4 which says "You shall no longer be termed Forsaken, Nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate; But you shall be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; For the Lord delights in you, And your land shall be married."
