If I had a truck this would be on my wishlist. A couple sleeping pads and some sleeping bags and youre good to go! No worries about rain pooling under your tent because you didnt realize youd set up in a dip.
Toyota-Tacoma truck: Way back in 1978, this is very similar to how my dad & I fixed up my pick-up truck for all of my trips to Alaska. I didn't buy a camper shell, but instead we built it from oak framing that we cut on his sawmill, then sealed it in with fiberglass. Pretty convenient set-up since I didn't have to pull out my tent after a full day of driving,...just slipped right into bed. If you can't be hiking, paddling, or biking, then this is the only way to travel !
