Strictly speaking, this is not a cricket book. Be that as it may, when Simon Barnes, the high priest of British sports writing, writes, it's usually worth more than a cursory dekko. In this book, the acclaimed scribe suggests sport could be a glimpse into the soul of man, which of course it is. All said and done 'The meaning of sport' is a very thoughtful journey into the nature of sport, and life. Truly, a mast read.
