Koi or more specifically Nishikigoi (brocaded carp), are ornamental varieties of domesticated common carp (Cyprinus carpio) that are kept for decorative purposes in outdoor koi ponds or water gardens. In Japanese, koi is a homophone for another word that means "affection" or "love"; koi are therefore symbols of love and friendship in Japan.
Did some carp fishing on my lunch break. Caught a 19 lb common carp and a F-1 carp (crucian carp and common carp hybrid). Show you all the tackle and carp fishing gear I use to catch carp in a hurry.
