“The Circle is an unbroken line which has no beginning, no end and no direction. The Circle represents a completeness which encompasses all space and time. The Circle depicts the unending, the unknowable, the un-measurable, the un-graspable and the indefinable aspects of Eternity which surpass and baffle our rational minds. In other words, The Circle is the symbol of Divinity. And because The Circle is a Symbol of Divinity it is also a Symbol of perfection, completeness and Unity.”
Ensō is a Japanese word meaning "circle" and a concept strongly associated with Zen. It symbolizes enlightenment, strength, elegance, the universe, and the void. Ensō symbolizes a moment when the mind is free to simply let the body/spirit create. The ensō is not separate, but is part of something greater; imperfection is an essential and inherent aspect of existence.
