To create a broad light, pose your subject to show a 2/3 or 3/4 view of the face and direct your main light toward the side of the face that is closest to the camera. (= the broader or larger side that the lens sees). A broad light is good for “adding weight” to a face that is too thin.

In this article I will provide use with some diagrams of light patterns and its brief descriptions. The intention of this article is to introduce these names and light setups, which you will encounter among photographers.

1. Cyan; 2. Softbox 1/2 CTO.  I really love this color, it gives a dark and cold mood that is really nice
. The mix with the CTO is perfect to me. For this image I installed a Stripbox at 45° with the cyan, and a square softbox with a 1/2 CTO filter.
