Fence of Love, Makarska, Croatia - Love locks are a popular way to show you love around the world, and I've seen bridges in Paris and Cologne that look so overloaded it's surprising that they are still standing. I much prefer this 'fence of love,' seen on the Sveti Petar peninsula in Makarska on Croatia's Dalmatian Coast. Not only was it almost dainty compared to the others I've seen, but it was also in by far the most scenic spot!

Most visitors to Dalmatia head straight for the islands, but the Makarska Rivijera on the mainland coast, between Split and Dubrovnik, is home to some of the country’s loveliest stretches of beach. Running from Brela in the north to Gradac in the south, the riviera is 38 miles long and centres on Makarska.
