AN IMPERIAL PRESENTATION BROOCH BY FABERGÉ, WORKMASTER ALFRED THIELEMANN, ST. PETERSBURG, CIRCA 1912 Circular, applied with a rose-cut diamond and hardstone cabochon-set crown, within a laurel wreath border inset with rose-cut diamonds and hardstone cabochons. Provenance: acquired by the Cabinet of His Imperial Majesty from Fabergé on March 10, 1912. By repute, presented to the family of Michael Grigoriev of the Imperial Capella Choir on the christening of their daughter, Alexandra, in 1912.
Accent herringbone with marble subway tiles. The pencil moldings are a great frame. When you change patterns a molding to separate them makes a statement. If tiles aren't the same height, the molding hides that and the look is finished.
