How to Boil Shrimp Like a New Orleans Native ~ Add enough water to pot to cover shrimp by 2 inches; remove shrimp. Squeeze juice of 2-3 lemons into water; drop lemons in too. Add bag of shrimp/crab boil, salt and vinegar. (The vinegar is the secret ingredient. It makes the shrimp easier to peel.) Bring water to boil; add shrimp.
