Cut Energy Bills with Blown-In Insulation in the Attic
This summer, my boyfriend (a remodeler) and I insulated the outer walls of two south-facing rooms in my house with this blow-in cellulose insulation & a hopper & hose rented from the local hardware store. We opened 2 half-dollar-sized holes at the top and middle of each between-joist stretch. One manned the hopper while the other blew in the soft, safe fibers. We patched the drywall so that you can't see that there were holes. All for <$200. It's already paid for itself.
