Netflix's original series Daredevil, which stars a blind superhero, was originally hard for blind audience members to understand. The series was released without audio description that would make it accessible to the visually-impaired. TV broadcasters are required to release such descriptions for some content, but Netflix, as an internet streaming service, faces no such requirement.

See the swag lady on the left? That Deborah Ann Woll, the amazing Karen Page in Daredevil. See the cool guy on the right? That's her husband, E. J. He is a fan of Daredevil and has a degenerative disease that causes blindness. It was a very important role for Deborah because of having a blind superhero on TV. Her husband dressed as Matt Murdock for the premiere red carpet, with the Daredevil symbol beneath his shirt. What an amazing story :)) #RepresentationMatters !!
