This meatloaf is from the Chez Melange Restaurant in Redondo Beach, CA., and is definitely worth the extra steps. It has a wonderful mellow blend of flavors that makes it really taste like it came from a restaurant. Its unusual in that in doesnt use bread crumbs as a filler and this was done for the texture, years before the low carb craze. Ive frozen it both cooked and uncooked, and texture does not suffer.
These were a big hit at the housewarming I brought them to. While they were super cute, they got a little crispier than I normally like my cookies. I think I'd do them again, with either less cooking time or a different sugar cookie dough.
seashell birthday cake - This cake was done for my daughters best friend who loves the beach. The cake is 1/4 sheet white with buttercream icing and the seashells are chocolate molds (marbled). Sand is graham cracker crumbs and wilton sugar crystals.
