One of the greatest gifts parents can give to their children is a strong, healthy, united, and loving marriage. As the marriage goes, so goes the family. As husband and wife, father and mother, be heroes and positive role models for your children. Don't forget—Actions speak louder than words... and you are always teaching your kids. Lead by example, being a model in word and deed. Both parents set the tone and pace for their children’s success.
True! And I know I need the reminder, for patience is definitely not my strong point! Reminds me of the quote attributed to George Washington Carver ... "How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and strong, because someday in life you will have been all of these."
You have taught me everything I know and stand for and have raised me to be strong and independent. But no matter what, I will always be your little girl, and I will always need you.Thank you for everything, and I mean everything. For teaching me to smile in the face of adversity and to believe in myself no matter what anyone says. I can only hope to one day become half the woman you are; strong, beautiful, and intelligent.
Proverbs 31 is about Ruth. A wonderful story; An unwelcomed woman in Jerusalem and follower of Naomi (then later God the Father) works to selflessly serve her mother-in-law after the death of her husband. Her reputation makes her less of "Moabite trash" and Boaz leaves his estate to honor her and her late usband. She is rewarded by God for her grace and sacrifice. Read Ruth, then Proverbs 31.
For us to allow this it is wrong & most people agree that it is wrong - but we still can't even treat humans any better than this & a lot of the horrible treatment is in the name of religious ideologies.
