A fun and interactive way to teach graphing skills! Using M&Ms, students will learn how to use tally marks, pictographs, and bar graphs. With budget cuts in education, this worksheet is perfect as a one-page worksheet, which will display student's mastery of graphing skills.
This is a blank bar graph template, with room for a title, four categories, and up to 16 votes in each category. Follow-up questions about most votes/least votes can be copied onto the back of the page. Great for teaching data analysis, or for incorporating math into other subject areas. *EDITED to add another blank template, with no scale.
Here's a terrific post on a week's worth of graphing lessons. The only note I would make here is that the anchor chart has an inappropriate example of a line graph. Line graphs are designed to show change over time, not categorical data. Other than this error, you'll find lots of good stuff here.
