This is a Bald Eagle. It is America's National bird. They are endangered mostly because of the Pesticide DDT. These birds used to eat the roots that were contaminated by the pesticide and their nesting and feeding sites were spreaded.

We went to Eagle Days in Clarksville, MO a couple weeks ago. Didn't see any, but there is a bald eagle nest close to the highway on 61 and an eagle was there. Most likely the same eagle every year.,,and the nest is amazing.
