Pioneer Woman's Baked Ziti My notes: use 1 lb italian sausage, container ricotta, 16 oz bag mozz (but didn't use it all), 32 oz Carfagna sauce, little bit of onions. Split into two pans (one to freeze). Covered top with both mozz and parm.
Tried this without the ground beef and it turned out fantastic! Very simple recipe, but takes a bit of time. "Recipe Best: Easy Baked Ziti very easy to make. Added mushrooms and onions on mine also cheddar cheese better as left over surprisingly."
We know ricotta is a traditional addition, but it has a tendency to get dry and grainy when baked. Our update uses a creamy Parmesan béchamel, in addition to a tangy tomato sauce, which together make for a super flavorful finished dish—that won’t dry out in the oven.
