Dry Falls, a popular waterfall located a few miles outside of Highlands, North Carolina, gives visitors the rare treat of walking safely behind a waterfall. This 75-foot tall waterfall in the Nantahala National Forest flows over an overhanging cliff, allowing people to walk behind the falls and stay dry (hence the name). Part of the renovations included a fully accessible observation area adjacent to the parking area and addition of pit toilets. It's approximately 80 miles from Asheville.
♥ The Asheville, NC "Drum Circle" is no longer seasonal ... the signature event and fixture of Pritchard Park in downtown during the warm weather months has gone year-round! The still-free to the public weekly Friday evening event will move indoors during the winter months, to the ground floor of the nearby New Mountain AVL music venue on South French Broad Ave., from approx. 6-9pm. | Asheville Citizen-Times
