have client make a thank you card with images on the outside and then write an appreciation story on the inside with something or someone they are grateful for...have each member of the group that wants to share their card read it out loud and see if there are any similarities

This relates to psychology because art is a form of therapy. When people engage in the arts it is something that can relieve them from the stresses of life. This is why I stress the arts so much in the school system. A lot of kids go through so much at home and need a positive outlet to let out some of the things they are feeling on.
SprED the Word: Therapeutic Expressive Arts Activity. Objective: February is Eating Disorders Awareness Week which provides us the opportunity to either learn more about our own Eating Disorder or teach others about Eating Disorders. Materials: Paper, pencils, pens, markers, collage materials, glue sticks, scissors. Optional: Access to the internet.
