Margaret Bartlett Guildford began working in a burn unit and ended the war by nursing concentration camp victims. Nurses had no trouble getting into the armed forces. They performed what was considered to be a natural role for women: caring for others. They even served with the Canadian Army in the First World War. About 4,500 of them served the armed forces in WW2, and they had the most demanding job of all. These were the women who tended the wounded, some of whom were terribly injured ~
Kristoffer "Kris" Kristofferson (born June 22, 1936) is an American country music singer, songwriter, musician, and film actor. He joined U.S. Army and achieved rank of Captain. He became a helicopter pilot after receiving flight training at Fort Rucker, Alabama. He also completed Ranger School. During the early 1960s, he was stationed in West Germany as a member of the 8th Infantry Division.
