A Crafty Arab: Arab Americans You Already Know - James Jabara. James "Jabby" Jabara was the first American (Lebanese American) and US Air Force jet ace in history. Born in OK, he lived in KS where he enlisted as an aviation cadet at Fort Riley. Jabara attended four flying schools in TX before he received his pilot's wings. Jabara flew two tours of combat duty in Europe during WWII as a P-51 Mustang pilot, and scored 1.5 air victories against German aircraft.

15 July 1953 – 62 years ago today, U. Air Force (then) Captain James Jabara, Fighter-Interceptor Wing, qualified as the second and last “triple ace” of the war — 15 kills. He also was the second ranking jet ace of the war.
