These were created by an artist from another country, but when I saw them, I immediately thought of the insane amount of "souvenirs" our children have collected on trips...and these painted stones made me think how fun it would be for everyone to collect a found stone from each trip we take, paint a design, just write a few words that describe the trip, or a simple date, whatever each person wants, & start a collection...from every trip. Display them in a glass apothecary jar in the family…

A word wall is a great way to display words that the children use often so they know how to spell them without having to ask another student or the teacher all the time. As the year progresses you could take words down that they have learned and put up different ones for them to learn.

LA and ART First draw imaginary bird....then describe it in words....then create it out of paper scraps....display on tree with descriptions in another spot on the wall (so students can try to identify the birds). Great project for another part of the school (by the front door in spring)
