When an old man died in a nursing home, nurses found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed was spread throughout the nursing home and afar. The old man's sole bequest to posterity has since appeared in the Christmas editions of magazines around the country and appearing in mags for Mental Health. A slide presentation has also been made based on his poem. And this old man, with nothing left to give to the world, has given this to the World ... see past the surface...xxx
REMBRANDT 1606-1669 - A Bust of an Old Man...Rembrandt lived an affluent lifestyle, but lived far beyond his means. He had a large mortgage, spent money on art, prints, and rarities and avoided bankruptcy in 1656 only by selling many of his paintings and his collections of antiquities. Unfortunately the sale prices of his collection was disappointing and he was forced to sell his house and printing press and move to a more modest location.
