French Napoleonic prisoners of war were sent to the parole town of Alresford. Here are 5 graves dating between 1810 and 1812 of 4 soldiers and one for the wife of an officer who died in the small market town.
This autumn half-term Alresford is set to reveal its spooky side with a free ‘ghost hunt’ organised for local and visiting children. From Monday 27 October until Saturday 1 November, a specially devised trail will take participants around town in search of ghosts and ghouls, with a Halloween treat at the end.
If you were following along on Stories yesterday, you saw that we were in my favorite little town, Alresford, yesterday. I love it for its pretty Georgian high street and it's great shops, but this house is the main attraction for me. I hesitated posting another photo of it, but I figure that others have their Eiffel Towers and Big Bens, and I have my house with a river running through it. by photobyshannon
