Meursaults beliefs, like his philosophy, was that he was an Atheist and did not believe in God even when the magistrate showed him the crucifix and claimed that all other criminals felt something when shown the crucifix. But Meursault felt nothing and can be classified as a rebel since he didn't believe in God like everyone else, even if the magistrate tried to convince him.
