1923 Dodge Brothers Business Sedan - The Dodge Brothers Company started in 1900 supplying auto parts to Detroit's growing auto industry. Tired of being in "Henry Ford's vest pocket" the brothers, John & Horace, began making their own cars in 1914. Slightly more upscale than Ford's Model T, many innovations and acclaim for durability by 1920 Dodge ranked 2nd place in auto sales. After both brothers died in 1920 sales dropped. Eventually, Walter Chrysler bought the company in 1928.
Mary Violet Leontyne Price rose to international acclaim in the1950s & 60s as one of the 1st African Americans to become a leading artist at the Metropolitan Opera. Time magazine called her voice "Rich, supple and shining." Her many honors are the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Kennedy Center Honors, the National Medal of Arts & 19 Grammy Awards & special Lifetime Achievement Award in 1989
