One of the problems with printing is getting a hold of things to print. You can of course download pre-made objects from a variety of places like Thingiverse; but if you want something unique and made by you, that's where things get a little difficult.
However, thanks to 3D printing, we have seen several very unique looking shower heads pop up on websites like Thingiverse and Shapeways. One designer, JMSchwartz11, took the original T-Rex head, and turned it into a brilliant shower head design. This will fit any standard 1/2″ shower head pipe, and should hold up nicely. Just be sure to warn your guests before they step into the shower!
